The U.S. Senate on Thursday confirmed Lydia Kay Griggsby to a 15-year term on the United States Court of Federal Claims

At the time of nomination, she served as chief counsel for privacy and information policy for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.  She was confirmed by a unanimous vote of the Senate.

Judge Griggsby has served in her current position on the judiciary committee since 2008. She previously worked as privacy counsel for the committee from 2006 to 2008 and served in a similar capacity for the Senate Select Committee on Ethics between 2004 and 2005. She began her career in 1993 as an associate with DLA Piper before moving on to serve as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Division’s commercial litigation branch and an assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia.

She was nominated by President Obama in April.
